REAP is fighting this childhood illiteracy epidemic by training teachers (and future teachers) in Structured Literacy. We unlock each child’s potential by giving teachers a better way to teach reading so all children can learn to read.

2013

Goal: train 1 teacher in Orton Gillingham

REAP is born

Jen & Jeremy Rhett and Carla Stanford devised a plan to help struggling readers. The Goal: Provide Orton-Gillingham training for 1 public school teacher.

Received 35 applications for teacher training

Trained 1st cohort of 12 public school teachers in Orton-Gillingham

2014

Crushed our 1st-year goal!

Received 100+ teacher applications

Trained 2nd cohort of 74 public school teachers

180 teachers trained so far

Coaching + modeling = better training

About REAP

Reading is Essential for All People is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving reading proficiency in public school students through teacher training and enrichment. REAP provides public school teachers with specialized training that reinforces the foundations of reading. These training approaches are helpful for any child, in any classroom, small group, or one-on-one situation, and are especially critical for struggling readers. REAP is located in Decatur, Georgia.
